Precautions for Water Pump Installation in Heat Pump System
Apr 08, 2022Position: The backwater side of the main engine of heat pump system
Installation Direction: Horizontally
Note: Avoid excessive bends
Attention:
1. Select the water pump with base slotted structure: Condensate will be generated inside the water pump during transporting low-temperature medium, and the slotted base can discharge the condensate in time to prevent the accumulation inside the water pump thus causing burning failure. When installing the water pump with slotted base structure, it is necessary to ensure that the orifice is facing down, and the orifice is unobstructed without blockage of thermal insulation cotton and sundries, so as to facilitate the smooth discharge of condensate.
2. Installed on the backwater side of the main engine of heat pump system: It is best to install it on the return side of the heat pump host to avoid vacuum. We know that the inlet pressure of the water pump is the minimum. If it is installed on the water outlet side of the system, it will suck water out of the heat exchanger of the main engine. In this way, the water volume in the main engine will be reduced, resulting in the decrease of flow and the corresponding increase of water temperature, which will lead to the high temperature alarm of the main engine due to poor heat exchange and affect the normal operation of the main engine.
3. Placed horizontally during installation: If installed vertically, it will not only affect the service life of the water pump, but also burn out due to the high temperature of the water pump.
4. Excessive elbows shall be avoided: With more elbows, the local resistance of the pipeline will increase. Thus affecting the operation of the whole system.
5. The junction box of the water pump cannot be faced down: If the pump is installed improperly, condensate will penetrate into the junction box and may damage the electrical components inside.
6. The installation shall be carried out by professionals: It can be found in many project sites that problems are more likely due to the unprofessional installation, which will bring hidden dangers to the later operation of the system.
